Meet Sue Roberts, our AFSO, ISSM, and Project Coordinator. Sue is the go-to security officer for our team, guiding employees through the clearance process and keeping our government contracts compliant. With Sue working with our security team and regulatory standards, Link Solutions stays mission-ready every day.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE INDUSTRY, AND WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE THIS PATh?
My entry into the security industry was unexpected, driven by the need to balance a demanding career with being able to care for my son, who has an autoimmune disease. Having been immersed in the military community for over 20 years, I was already well-versed in security clearances. A friend in DoD investigations suggested I leverage this knowledge as a remote Quality Reviewer. I took that opportunity, completed the training, and discovered a passion for the field. I have continued to grow in this industry ever since, driven by a genuine interest in the work and a desire to help people navigate the process.
What advice do you have for women starting their careers?
Commit to lifelong learning even after you feel you’ve mastered your craft. These industries are in a constant state of flux, and the moment we stop learning is the moment we fall behind. By staying current with the latest courses and certifications, you ensure you’re always growing, evolving, and staying competitive in a shifting market.

My family is my foundation and my motivation; I strive to succeed in my career so I can support them, while modeling the values I hope to pass on to my children.
